My last blog post was titled "unsettling job search", which leads to the title of this entry. Most of you have already heard the news, but I decided it was time to put it on my blog. With the last three weeks our lives have changed dramatically.
GOODBYE ILLINOIS, HELLO MISSOURI !!!
As of June 6th we will be residents of Branson, Missouri. Garrett did awesome in his interviews with the city manager and other community leaders, so they decided to hire him as the Economic Development Director for the city. I know he will give his whole heart to the city of Branson just as he has done here in Centralia, and he will do a great job for them. I also know the boys and I will enjoy living in a place with so much to see and do! The locals get in to all the shows for very discounted prices, and as city employees I think we will get many other perks as well.
For the first six months we will be renting a condo to give us time to get familiar with the area and decide what type of house we can afford. I will not be working in real estate down there, for now at least. Perhaps after Jerry goes to Kindergarten in 2010 I might consider it. We feel tremendously blessed with all the good things God has sent our way. We look forward to getting to our new ward down there and finding out how we will be put to work. There are two wards in Branson, and from what I have heard the church is strong there. I look forward to finding some new friends, and having a fresh start somewhere where no one knows us.
Our time in Centralia has been good, but it is definitely time to move on. We know that we will keep in touch with those who have been real friends to us here and hope to have many visitors in the years to come. Thats all for now, I need to get busy with my packing and cleaning responsibilities!
